The Winner is…

Sunshine Award!

Okay, I think I’m always going to associate “winning” with the Charlie Sheen rant. I didn’t know his name until his rant, but hey, I guess it’s true sometimes you have to make some noise to be heard. But, the point of it all is I was awarded The Sunshine Award. I get way too nervous to be long-winded when all eyes are on me. So, I’d probably mumble “Thanks, I would like to thank God, my mom, my cat, dog, pet fish (I don’t have a cat, dog, or fish)…” run back to my seat and pine over what I just said, lol.

I started this blog a few months back, and I received this award from Ms.

Here is the definition for The Sunshine Award on Mark Bialczak‘s blog.

“The award is given to those who  positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere.”

Directions for you to accept the award

10 Interesting Things About Myself:

1. I like being alone and in my own little world a bit too often. I can be so quiet people get offended, lol.

2. People tend to tell me their secrets and give me their passwords a lot.

3. I’m not sure if I want kids. Some days I do, and some days I’m way too sure about not wanting them.

4. I like being sure. I like knowing things. I like being sure I know things

5. I changed my major a million times.

6. Sometimes I don’t “corrext” my text messages and I see the mistake. I just feel like you’re smart enough to figure it out.

7. I remember faces, smells, and other things but I can’t remember lyrics. I have an awesome memory–I don’t mean to brag, ahem

8. I have a low tolerance for noise and light. I think I’m telling you weird things not interesting, but isn’t interesting weird?

9. Make me laugh, and we can be friends.

10. I’m too private to tell more about myself, lol. Just kidding. ummm, If I love you today I’ll love you tomorrow.

Now, for the bloggers “who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere.”

1.) Thought provoking.

2.) Wise one and gentle. You’re different and I’m glad I get to experience knowing, “El”

3.) Sweet, Nasima 🙂

Thanks again, Miss Single For Now hope you have a great one year in singlehood. If you start something, finish it. Thanks for thinking of me. Keep blogging fun and interesting…well, just be creatively and non-creepily weird. Keep in mind other readers if you’re not on the list and I’m following you, obviously there is a reason I’m coming along for the read.

Much Love,

Good Read

Have you ever been around someone and the person seems to agree with everything you say or do. It is a great thing to live in harmony, but differences are beautiful. I like being around people that sometimes have a different perspective.

God has created us to be different. Personally, I think the world is overpopulated, and I would have started making carbon copies (not joking). It’s possible that we are so important, so special that he took the time to create a different masterpiece each time. But, colors, tones, personalities are some of the differences that make the world a beautiful place. God created each one of us for a reason. Whatever He allows to happen there is always a reason. We are talented and gifted in different areas, and we ALL have something special going on inside of us. It is important that we exercise our gifts and value ourselves. You are just as important as the person sitting next to you, just as important as the man sitting in the White House. You are important. Your ideas are important. Your gift is important. Your very life has purpose. Embrace your idiosyncrasies!

It bothers me when I see people following other people. It is okay to be different. Be you and do you! And by all means please don’t follow me (I know, I know: Follow me as I follow Christ, lol). In following other people you end up comparing yourself to other people and wondering why you aren’t measuring up and can’t do it like they can. Well, you aren’t measuring up because it isn’t where you need to be. In following others you lose sight on the person you are. In suppressing who you are, you suppress your individuality. You’re a bird, so fly. Dance to your own beat. Be creative. Just be you…and God will Love You, Forever.

This life is your journey, make the best of it.

again, This life is your journey, make the best of it.

Snippet of my favorite childhood book:

Man, oh, man!

cold_cold_heart_by_sivel12001For the believer, in the US, life is becoming more difficult. The freedom to hold a righteous standard is being challenged. The freedom to live in truth is being challenged. The choice of serving God or money is becoming more real. You have called yourself a Christian and now we shall see. The test of authenticity is already here.

Your heart is being tested. Will you serve your own belly or follow God? Will you trust him or yourself? The time of testing is perfect. Your success will determine your promotion.

A cold heart is the result of being a lone ranger. You shall not survive without being connected to a holy church. A church that preaches about living righteously and abhoring sin. A church that holds the Bible in high esteem and works to follow every precept. A church that does not use noncanonical sources as gospel, but opens…
