Gentle, Gentle Man

He’s always been a gentle, gentle man

She wore happiness and a white dress

He wore love and a black tux

His eyes spoke of ineffable joy

Her smile hinted a need for certainty

Fear hugged her tightly

Her mind accepted fear and consequently filled her every motion with ambiguity

He was ready

Why was she not?

Hands held, eyes meeting

Still, she needed assurance.

At the altar they stood

He placed his hands where they needed to be

Gave her a hug of just the right quantity

All fear subsided

With the touch from her gentle, gentle man.

Friendship – Mali and Bambi

Benjamin and I started working together nearly two years ago… I can honestly say we probably would not have spoken to each other if we were not cooped together for hours at work. He claims that I’m closed minded. He also swears that he would have spoken to me, but trust me he’s lying. “Simba” is his undercover name for lying “ha-ha”. The truth is I believe we all can be a bit closed minded to a certain extent. Sometimes that’s what happens we ignore or run away from what we are not used to or what we don’t understand. He was different from any other guy I had ever met, and I was different from any other girl he had ever met. We were both looking at each other side-eyed thinking “what a strange person”. I’ll admit I have learned a lot from Ben, and I’m glad that I met him along this journey called life. I’ll always remember the debates, pranks, and heart to hearts. I look forward to more of each.

Alisa and I have known each other since middle school, but we didn’t really become friends until high school. We scrambled to pick a college to attend, trust me scramble is the right word, ha-ha. Let me just say we have been through the good parts of life and terrible parts of life, BUT yet we’re still friends. She stuck around when the struggles were ever so evident. She understands loyalty. What a blessing to have such a friend, she’s family now.

“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: What! You too? I thought I was the only one.” CS Lewis

To be my friend I believe you should add something to my life. And both individuals have added something to my life. I can only hope that I’ve added something special to the both of their lives. Cake
January 26th was Benjamin’s birthday, so I surprised him with a cake. Alisa also graduated! Here is a picture of the two crumb snatchers! Love you, guys

“Why do you do that?” he asked.

“What?”I queried.

“Why do you get upset when she says, ‘Oh my god’?”

We were watching a home renovation show on television and the owner of the house was being introduced to the newly remodeled home.  The homeowner said it about 20 times…
